Cilantro Detox Juice

Today I want share with you my new favorite green juice! Hydrating and refreshing – it’s just perfect for the dog days of summer.

Cilantro Detox Juice is an incredibly healing juice. Created by our friend and fellow wellness warrior, Elana Amsterdam, this juice features an entire bunch of cilantro (stems and leaves), which is known to be highly effective at helping chelate heavy metals from the body.

As someone who has a family history with Alzheimer’s, detoxing heavy metals is of particular interest to me.

If you don’t have a juicer at home, this would probably taste just as good blended up in your high speed blender, but you’ll have to report back and let me know. Alternatively, you might like our Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I do! Be sure to leave me a comment below. I’d love to hear from you.

With love and healing green juice,

This sounds really good. I’ve had it like this but made with parsley but hadn’t thought to use cilantro. I rarely use my juicer because it’s a pain to clean. Are there any out there that clean quick so I can pretty much make and run out the door?

Hi Cheryl, Parsley sounds delicious too! We’ll definitely try that. Juicers can be difficult to clean and we haven’t heard of one that’s easier than the others. We use one that came with a bristle brush that helps clean the filter and the teeth a little faster. Does yours have that? If not, you can probably find something that will work at the local kitchen store. XO, Jo & Jules

I’ve heard of juice cilantro for heavy metal detox but someone mentioned having to drink chlorophyll with it to bind them and show them out or something like that. Any advice on that. I hope the answer will come to my email. renicolestevenson@gmail.com
      Thanks

Hi Andrea, thank you for your comment! Chlorophyll and algae can both help with heavy metal detoxification. We often opt for seaweed as it is closer to whole food form. Check out our Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie recipe. In this blended version, you could go with spirulina (algae) as the recipe states. Or you could substitute spirulina for chlorella (another algae) or chlorophyll for similar benefits. If you have further questions, you can reach out to us at connect@consciouscleanse.com. I just made this and it was amazingly delicious! The combination of cilantro, lemon and lime was great and the ginger gives it that extra spicy kick! I love how the cucumbers juice up so easily and are the mildly watery base to this juice! And I was not missing the sweetness of an apple or pear. Thanks!

Hi Maurean, We’re so glad you love it as much as we do! XO, Jo & Jules

I would add apples to the list instead of cucumbers as apples help detoxify metals

Hi Bob, thanks for your comment! Cucumbers are also helpful for detoxification, but either one (or both!) works. Feel free to play around with it and see what combination you like most :). And you can always send us an email if you have questions about this recipe or any of its ingredients at connect@consciouscleanse.com. XOXO, The Conscious Cleanse Team
