We LOVE cold green smoothies in the summer, but in the colder weather, they can be slightly less appealing (hello, brain freeze). And when we’re cleansing, most of the standard winter morning favorites (eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc.) we leave off our plates. So we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite warming, clean-eating approved breakfast options for you to enjoy when cold green smoothies are giving you the chills.
Spiced Pear Warm Winter Smoothie
We know what you’re thinking – wait, a green smoothie?? But we promise you’ll love this warming recipe! The key to this smoothie is the warm cashew milk – heat up the milk in any green smoothie recipe to make it warm!
If you’re a fan of traditional breakfast skillets, you’ll love our cleanse-friendly version! We use parsnips instead of potatoes and add a healthy serving of greens so you won’t feel like you’re missing out.
Instead of a green smoothie in the morning, why not try a green soup? Our Bieler’s Broth makes the perfect morning meal, especially paired with some salmon or a topped with a few tablespoons of hemp seeds.
If you prefer a sweet breakfast over a savory one, try our Creamy Banana Chia Pudding! It’s the perfect clean alternative to oatmeal or yogurt when you’re cleansing. It’s delicious topped with chopped fresh fruit or berries.
