When someone says “Valentine’s Day” what’s the first thing that pops into your mind? If you’re anything like us, it’s a mental picture of all the delicious treats you’re looking forward to enjoying.
In fact, we’ve had sweets on the brain ever since February 1st rolled around – so today we’re sharing our favorite Valentine’s Day treats from our blog.
Looking forward to making some healthy sweet treats this Valentines Day? Then this blog is your perfect guide to all the amazing V-Day-friendly Conscious recipes we’ve developed over the years.
Spoiler: most of them are all about chocolate!
But if you’re not a chocolate lover like us, we have plenty of minimal chocolate or completely chocolate-free recipes for you to enjoy. We’ve included 2 recipes in our list below for the chocolate-averse out there as well.
And if you do intend to go chocolate-wild this Valentine’s Day (like we do!), remember to go for a brand that tests lower in heavy metals, like Ghiradelli or Taza.
You can find all of these recipes either right here on our blog, or in our cookbook, The Conscious Cleanse Cookbook.
And now, on to the Valentine’s Day Treats!
Mexican Haute Chocolates: These incredible homemade chocolates combine organic coconut oil, cacao, maple syrup, and some cayenne pepper to light a fire in your belly and heart. They’re a great 80:20-friendly alternative to all the processed chocolates on the market.
Raspberry Cheesecake Bites: These cheesecake bites were developed specifically for V-Day, and they tick all the boxes. Raspberries give just the right amount of acidity and sweetness to the silky cashew-based filling, making this a truly drool-worthy dessert.
*Vegan Chocolate Chickpea Ice Cream (The Conscious Cleanse Cookbook, pg. 226): Ice cream and chickpeas may sound like an unlikely combo, but we bet you’ll be pleasantly surprised by this rich and creamy, protein-packed treat. It’s a refined sugar-free and vegan delight that’ll please any chocolate ice cream lover.
Vegan Chocolate Truffles: Our Vegan Chocolate Truffles are the most decadent, mind-blowing, rich and creamy chocolate truffles we’ve ever tasted! And trust us, we’ve had our fair share of chocolate. Plus these treats have an extra superfood ingredient: maca powder. Maca goes perfectly with Valentine’s Day due to its reputation for boosting libido, stabilizing mood, and enhancing energy and endurance.
*Molten Chocolate Cake with Coconut Whipped Cream (The Conscious Cleanse Cookbook, pg. 210): These sexy little chocolate cakes are the perfect way to round out a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner. They’re grain-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and perfectly oozing with dark chocolate. Top one off with a healthy dollop of coconut whipped cream for a satisfying V-Day treat you won’t soon forget!
Carob Hazelnut Cheesecake: Love chocolate but don’t love the way your body reacts to it? This rich carob cheesecake tastes chocolatey without the chocolate. We got this recipe from our partner restaurant Zeal, and it’s an absolute must-try. It’s super easy to prepare (no baking required!) and is hands-down better than a hot date but just as good shared with the ones you love.
