HI,
Where do you buy your turmeric and how important is the quality of what you buy in terms of its health benefits? Hope everyone at the conscious cleanse had great Thanksgiving!
I buy organic turmeric in bulk from Vitamin Cottage!
Can you recommend a replacement to the mango in the green smoothie? I am allergic to mango.
Peaches!
I have done this but with spinach.. Awesome engery boost!
Yay! Glad you like it Bridget!
How many servings should come from this quart. I’m type II Diabetic. I can’t have much banana and mango at one time. Would this be 4 servings?
Hey Terry, I would actually recommend that you try a low sugar option and avoid the ones with mango. Water, spinach, apple, cucumber and maybe half a banana would be yummy too. To answer your question though, this would be 1 serving or 1 quart.
Hello,
I’m a fan of your book, smoothies and working on the lifestyle. I often use fresh turmeric which I can get organically and cheaply at my local health food store here in France. How do you feel about fresh turmeric and how much to use? Also, a friend told me that turmeric should always be associated with black pepper to be effective. What do you know about this? I’d never seen that anywhere.
And finally, I received a juice extractor for my birthday and have been loving it – how do you feel about fresh veg/fruit juices?
Hi Jean! We love turmeric and fresh is always great. I would use it to taste, and adjust accordingly. I would probably start with an inch and go from there. And yes to fresh pressed juices. We lean more towards veggies than fruits to keep the sugar down. Have fun!
Hello Jules! Is there any substitute for the avocado? I’m unfortunately allergic, but I think this smoothie is just what I need right now! Thanks for the wonderful recipes!
For sure! You could simply omit it and/or replace it with a tablespoon of coconut oil. Enjoy!
You use the whole lemon….not just the juice right? Can’t wait to make this as my next green smoothie! Just started my 14 days and loving it so far!
Yes, I use the entire lemon. Cut away the yellow part of the peel but leave as much white (pith) part. Enjoy and happy cleansing!
Is this smoothie cleanse approved?
Hi Nicole, Yes, this smoothie is cleanse approved. We hope you enjoy it!! XO, J&J
